The Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) is delighted to announce it will be hosting an “Innovation through Light Month” as part of Munster Technological University (MTU) Innovation and Enterprise Month. The event will run for the month of March displaying how innovation works through light in everyday life. This event will highlight the importance of photonics in innovation and enterprise and how it affects our day-to-day lives. The aim is to bring the science of physics and photonics to primary school students.
This is an online event taking place on Thursday the 3rd, 10th, 24th, 31st of March from 10.30 11.15 on Microsoft Teams. At the end of the four weeks, there will be a competition between all the schools involved and the winning schools will receive prizes. The questions for the quiz will be based on what they have learnt during the previous four weeks. As well as prizes for the winning schools, each participating school will receive a science park for each student in the class and an additional science pack for the teacher. Each science pack will include a list of experiments we will do throughout the Innovation Through Light Month and a certificate of completion for each school.
