Nikolay Petkov

Dr. Nikolay Petkov received a MSc. Degree in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry from St. Kliment Ochridski University of Sofia in Bulgaria, and his Ph.D. Degree in Physical and Materials Chemistry from the Ludwig Maximillian University of Munich in Germany in 2004. He then became a postdoctoral researcher at University College Cork in the group of Prof J. Holmes. He joined Tyndall Institute in 2008 as characterisation technologist and later manager of Electron Microscopy & Analysis Facilities. In 2015, he joined Cork Institute of Technology and CAPPA as lecturer in Chemistry and Academic member of Tyndall Institute. His team main research activities are in nanoscale characterisations, nanofabrication and development of beyond CMOS devices. He is the author/co-author of more than 120 journal papers, receiving over 300 citations per year. His “h”-factor is 40.
