Samira Jastan

Ph.D. Student

Samira received her B.Sc. in physics from University of Tabriz, Iran. She then completed her M.Sc. in photonics at Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Science (IASBS). During her master’s degree, she was working in the field of optical fiber sensors. After graduating, she worked on a collaboration with an industrial partner on completing a prototype for electric power industry. Recently she joined the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) for PIADS PhD project. Her project focuses on Narrow linewidth Blue Laser systems in partnership with Queens University Belfast, the University of Glasgow, and CSTG Laser Company under the supervision of Dr. Liam O’ Faolain.
